Texas Roadhouse was serving up a little charity Thursday, March 23, helping a member of the Grand Rapids Griffins community.
Jake Engel was in his second season as a corporate sales account manager of the team, when he died suddenly back in February. After starting with the Griffins as an intern in 2015, and he also spent time with the staffs of the West Michigan Whitecaps and Muskegon Lumberjacks.
Thursday night the Texas Road House in Kentwood donated proceeds to the family of Engel. According to the restaurant, for every table that mentioned the fundraiser, the restaurant donated 20 percent of sales to the Engel family.
