SAF Holland closing Holland operations by end of October

HOLLAND, MICH. - A global supplier to the truck industry is closing a plant in the region, a move it said will affect all of its employees there.

SAF-Holland, which is headquartered in Luxembourg and has plants in Holland and Muskegon, said last week operations at 467 Ottawa Ave. in Holland will cease by Oct. 31, according to a WARN notice filed with the state.

The company is laying off 97 employees. Layoffs will begin on May 19. The company said it has notified all affected employees.

The Holland plant produces fifth wheels, truck suspensions, king pins and couplers, while the Muskegon plant produces fifth wheels and truck suspensions.
