MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, MICH. - The Muskegon Township Planning Commission is forming a committee to address a sign ordinance that has some business owners upset.
Currently, the township bans non-permanent signs, including balloons, streamers and windsocks. Business owners told commissioners Monday night they need the signs to draw in customers.
The township supervisor says the ordinance helps keep the business corridors looking neat and helps maintain a clear line of sight for drivers.
The new committee will review the current policy and possibly come up with an alternative to address the concerns of all of those involved.
