Chilly Thursday; Nicer Weekend

Wednesday was a wet and humid day across West Michigan with showers and isolated thunderstorms. Rainfall was heaviest along and north of I-96 where ¾-1¾" of rain fell. Temperatures stayed in the mid to upper 60s to the low to mid 70s elsewhere with dewpoints in the 60s.

Wednesday night will feature more scattered showers, especially along and north of I-96. Rainfall will amount to around ½" or less. Temperatures will fall into the mid 50s. Winds will become north and diminish to 3-6 mph inland and to 5-10 mph along the lakeshore. Lake Michigan forecast: Winds: N-NW 8-16 kts. Waves: building to 1-4'.

Thursday will be cloudy with showers, mainly through midday following by clearing from the NW later in the day. Temperatures will cool off drastically, falling from the mid 50s into the 40s during the afternoon. Winds will be north at 8-16 mph inland and 10-20 mph along the lakeshore. Lake Michigan forecast: Winds: to N 15-25 kts. Waves: 4-8'.

Thursday night will be clear and colder with some light frost possible along US-10. Temperatures will be in the in the mid to upper 30s. Winds will be north at 7-14 mph diminishing to 4-8 mph inland and north at 10-18 mph diminishing to 5-10 mph along the lakeshore.

Friday will be mostly sunny and cool with temperatures in the low to mid 60s. Winds will be northeast-northwest at 5-10 mph.

Saturday will be partly sunny and cool with temperatures in the low to mid 60s. Winds will be light and variable.

Sunday through Tuesday will be mostly sunny and milder with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s Saturday, around 70° Sunday, and in the mid 70s Memorial Day and Tuesday. Winds will be northeast-southeast.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely Tuesday night followed by warm and humid conditions Wednesday with temperatures in the low 80s. Winds will be south.

The 6-10 Day Outlook for Tue. May 28 through Sat. Jun. 1 calls for above average temperatures and above average precipitation. Average highs are around 73-75° with average precipitation of .64".

The 8-14 Day Outlook for Thu. May 30 through Wed. Jun. 5 calls for above average temperatures and above average precipitation. Average highs are around 74-76° with average precipitation of .89".
