GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The Verve Pipe, featuring local musician Brian VanderArk, will be playing at LaughFest this spring, according to festival organizers.
The band will be playing during the March 19 Super Saturdays event at Ford Fieldhouse.
Gilda's LaughFest runs from March 10 - March 20 at dozens of locations around Grand Rapids. Along with several regular comedy shows, there will be more than 100 free events during the ten-day event that benefits Gilda's Club of Grand Rapids.
The Bud Light Comedy Jam at the Orbit Room on Tuesday, March 15 is included in the free events but requires at ticket. The comedy jam is a stand-up comedy event featuring comedian Bobby Slayton with special guest Mike DeStefano. Slayton is a veteran comedian seen on many television shows and DeStefano was a finalist on the "Last Comic Standing." Local comedian, David Dyer, will emcee the Tuesday evening event. Tickets are available through www.ticketmaster.com , at The Orbit Room and through the Gilda's LaughFest Box Office.
Super Saturdays are family-themed and designed for kids of all ages. The events include a reality race track, big-screen video game systems, Kick X games and many sports activities including: speed pitch, QB blitz, full-court press and more. The March 19 Super Saturdays event includes two performances by the Verve Pipe at 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Tickets for the family-friendly Super Saturdays on March 12 and 19 cost $7.
