(WZZM) - Jolon Hull is such a savvy shopper, she started her own website appropriately called savvychicsavings.com.
"Basically, I post deals that I personally do. I started it a couple years ago. It's just everyday savings deals for West Michigan and some national deals as well," said Hull.
So it's only fitting that this super saver saves no matter where her travels take her. Her newest hobby is running marathons. She's travelling to Boston and Maine in May. She's planned out two meals already for her trip and not surprisingly both are at a discount.
"Through groupon, living social and seize the deal - they're usually 50%-90% off. "
All these websites make it easy to shop and save in a foreign city. She paid $25 for $50 worth of food at the Millennium Bostonian Historic downtown hotel. She also purchased $30 worth of food at a Sushi Restaurant for $15. There's a good chance every meal Jolon eats on her vacation will be with some type of discount.
For the late adds, she'll use her smartphone. "When we're in town, we'll be able to see what deals are available. Depending on where, I'll just purchase it on the phone and redeem on the phone."
Many businesses offer discounted purchases without printing off a certificate. Just show them the approval e-mail on your phone and it's redeemed.
Jolon also booked her hotel for her New England trip. "We booked Sugarloaf and that was through hotels.com. And I used a cash back website to save a little extra money there."
E-Bates is Jolon's cash back website of choice. To double dip your savings, you simply go to E-bates and log onto your favorite website through E-bates. Each purchase comes with a percentage of cash back. Jolon says she usually sees them vary from anywhere from 2% to 6%, but on occasion she has received 14% cash back.
"It's like double cash back right now for Spring Break. So if traditionally you're getting 2% on hotels.com, you're getting 4% cash back."
E-Bates is free to join and will pay you you cash back via check or credit to your PayPal account. "I've been a member since 2009 and I've accrued $167 in cash back. "
