GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) - Governor Rick Snyder urged West Michigan business leaders today to support his plans to reinvent Michigan. "I believe the vast majority of Michiganders are very supportive of what we're doing and what we need to do, so I ask you to speak up," Snyder said in an address before the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce.
Snyder said he has not been surprised by the many protest rallies that have been held at the capitol lately; a pair of others are planned for this week. "The funny part that's amazing people the most is I'm actually doing what I said I was gonna do," Snyder said.
Snyder expressed confidence legislators will approve his budget and tax plans by the May 31st deadline he's requested.
His second stop will be at the Ottawa County Republicans' annual Lincoln Day Dinner . He'll be in the company of many Lakeshore and Statewide lawmakers including Congressman Bill Huizenga and newly elected Attorney General Bill Schuette.
He plans on discussing the urgent task of reinventing job creation in Michigan.
