ROCKFORD, Mich. (WZZM) -- An eight-year-old Rockford boy is hoping to see the final launch of the space shuttle Endeavour, even though Friday's launch was scrubbed.
Alec Lundy is in in Florida right now thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan. Alec lives with Duchenne's muscular dystrophy. On Friday, his family went to Kennedy Space Center to see the much-anticipated launch.
Also among the people in attendance was Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who's husband, Mark Kelly, is the shuttle's commander. Giffords is still recovering from a traumatic brain injury when she was shot in a attack at an event in Tucson last January.
Friday's launch was scrubbed due to mechanical problems. NASA leaders say they are hoping to try again on Monday.
The Lundy family is still hoping to be there. They are in Florida until Tuesday.
