Shoulder Pain: Common Causes and Effective Treatments

According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, about 4 million people in the United States seek medical care each year for shoulder sprain, strain, dislocation, or other problems. Each year, shoulder problems account for about 1.5 million visits to orthopedic surgeons.

Shoulder pain can develop for a variety of reasons: overuse, bursitis, tendinitis, tendon tears, and arthritis just to name a few. The appropriate treatment is dependent on determining the cause of the pain.

Dr. Wierks will be giving a free public presentation on this topic on Thursday, June 9 in Holland.
