The self-correcting golf balls

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM)-- For all of you golfers who have a hook or a slice in your drive, you know how frustrating that can be. What if changing that is as easy as changing your golf ball?

The Polara Ultimate Straight self-correcting golf ball is supposed to correct hooks and slices up to 75%. WZZM 13 Sports Director Tom Clyde and reporter Peter Ross both have significant slices. They helped me put it to the test.

The makers claim the 386 dimples on the Ultimate Straight are each designed with a specific purpose. The shallow dimples lower lift and establish preferred spin axis. The small dimples provide slice and hook correction. The deep dimples lower drag and enhance weight distribution.

Both Tom and Peter were thoroughly impressed with these balls. They definitely noticed their drives did not hook. Now, they may not have gone straight every time, but they acknowledged it could easily be part of their stance. Tom and Peter both said they noticed a big difference and they were believers!

We found the Polara balls online at www.polaragolf.com  for $29.95 for a box of 12.  We also found the Ultimate Straight X-S for extra spin off shorter irons for more ball-stopping power on the green. Those sell for $39.95. The website shows retail locations in Michigan, although there were none in West Michigan that we could find, and ways to try them FREE.
