IONIA, Mich. (WZZM) -- A Texas man will find out his sentence Tuesday for the murder of an elderly Ionia County woman.
In May, a jury found Justin Stephens guilty of home invasion and murder in the death of Bernita Cunningham. She was found dead in her Hubbardston home in 2006.
The initial autopsy was inconclusive and Cunningham's body was exhumed for a second autopsy.
Stephens told police he posed as a student to case Cunningham's home. He then came back to steal money and killed Cunningham when she tried to call police.
