GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) - Family, friends -- even people who did not know Renee Pagel -- gathered at Dutton Cemetery in Gaines Township Friday night to remember her as a generous woman, mother, and friend.
The people attending held hands and prayed, while others spoke about positive memories, and shared stories.
People were encouraged to sign paper flowers with hopes of entering a combined piece of art work in ArtPrize in Pagel's memory.
"I know where Renee is," says her friend, Chris Crandle. "She is in no pain. She is in a much better place, and really, yes, we hope to see it solved, especially for the kids' sake."
Renee Pagel's father and step-mother also attended tonights ceremony.
The primary message that was sent out by Friday night's gathering was that Renee Pagel was a generous individual, and the public is not lettering her memory fade until the case is solved.
