BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Ferris State University are investigating the death of an 18-year-old student in her dorm room.

The university's public safety officers were called to Clark Hall on the Big Rapids campus around 12:30 p.m. Monday.  The victim, Demia Marie Davis, 18, of Madison Heights, was found unresponsive by her roommate.

Investigators say the preliminary report on the girl's death shows no signs of foul play.

School officials say Davis was a member of the rugby team, and an active participant in Clark Hall activities.

Ferris State is making counseling available to students, faculty and staff affected by the girl's death.
