CALEDONIA, Mich. (WZZM) - There is less than one week left in the Toys for Tots campaign, and as Christmas draws closer, a Kent County business is helping make sure the U.S. Marines meet their goal, by collecting hundreds of toys.
Workers at Farmers Insurance got to wear jeans to work Wednesday in exchange for bringing in a toy. Last year the company collected more than 500 toys and about $1,100 in cash for Toys for Tots.
Farmers Insurance manager, Christopher Helmick says he wants to help families in need, who are struggling to provide for their children. "To put a smile on their face, when right now people are worried about putting food on the table."
Helmick says he expects to meet the goal of collecting 600 toys.
