ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) - She says it wasn't as glamorous as some might think, but Amore Trattoria Restaurant chef Jenna Arcidiacono says she had a blast feeding rapper Snoop Dogg before his Grand Rapids performance this week.
"For me it was a big deal," she says. "I grew up with Snoop. He was popular when I was younger."
When she found out Snoop Dogg was coming to play at The Intersection in downtown Grand Rapids, Chef Arcidiacono says she called and asked if she could do the catering.
She was hired the day before the event, and received Snoop's menu selections. Counting the rapper, there were 35 people in the crew that she had to feed.
"I had a day to prepare," she laughs. "He wanted chicken parm', pasta, fish, fresh green salads and fruit. Nothing crazy."
For dessert the restaurant prepared "Dog Pound Cake" and "Tiramisnoop."
After eating, Snoop gave Chef Arcidiacono and Amore Trattoria "props" with a Tweet on Twitter.
"He posts, 'Grand Rapids catering knows how to do it Doggy Style'," says Arcidiacono, reading from her IPad. "And he put up a picture. We were screaming in the kitchen."
Chef Arcidiacono and her assistant got an autograph, some pictures and front row seats for the concert.
"He was really nice," she recalls. "He was making jokes with us. When you see someone on TV or in a video you always wonder what they are really like. He was very nice and the show was great."
