Jacksonville, AL (Sports Network) - Jud Dillard dropped in a game-high 26
points and also pulled down 12 rebounds as the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles
put up a 76-68 win over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in Ohio Valley
Conference play at Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Also having a strong game for the Golden Eagles (16-9, 8-4 OVC), as they won
their third in a row, was Kevin Murphy with 23 points, while Zac Swansey kept
the offense moving with 11 assists for the visitors.
The Gamecocks (10-16, 5-7) were paced by Tarvin Gaines who posted 19 points,
followed by Brian Williams with 18 but still they lost for the second time in
the last three contests.
Even though Tech failed to convert one of its three attempts from behind the
three-point line in the first half, the visitors still connected on 55.6
percent from the floor in order to put up a 37-29 lead at the break.
In the second half the Golden Eagles opened up the offense and connected on an
impressive 62.5 percent from the floor in order to keep their distance and log
the eight-point win.
Tennessee Tech survived despite turning the ball over 15 times and converting
just 1-of-6 chances out on the perimeter.
