HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM)- Despite being sued by Bank of America - today Holland city officials began the process of demolishing a foreclosed bank-owned house.
This morning, the city started sending out bids to find a contractor that will knock down the house at 342 South River Avenue.
On Friday, we reported that Bank of America filed a lawsuit against the city to stop it from moving forward with the plan.
Bank of America denies claims that the house is dangerous because of its poor condition.
The bank has already paid nearly $10,000 to fix the property - including adding a new roof.
The city hopes to find a contractor in the next 3 or 4 weeks.
Both sides are scheduled to appear in court on February 27th - where a judge could make a ruling.
