GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-West Michigan is remembering legendary singer Whitney Houston, who was found dead Saturday.
Eric O'Brien, who is a disc jockey at 104.5 WSNX Weekdays, says anybody who is in the pop music and R & B industry has been influenced by Houston.
"[And] not just locally. Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, certainly Madonna have [all] been touched by Whitney Houston," said O'Brien. "So her reach has been vast and wide and rampant in this day and age in pop music, and she will be sorely missed. I think tomorrow at the Grammy Awards will be interesting to see [how] they scramble to put together for some sort of tribute for her."
Grammy award winning gospel singer Marvin Sapp also shared his thoughts on Houston's passing. He says she was a long-time friend and he and his wife were invited to her wedding to Bobby Brown.
He says he learned of the news just before he was to perform in a concert in Baltimore. Sapp says he was "absolutely stunned" learning of her death.
"Her gift and her talent was unbelievable. My prayers are with her family, her mom and her daughter. I pray that all things are well when they go through this very difficult season of their lives."
