GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-- Instahang is supposed to be the easy way to hang pictures and other decorations with no hammer or nails and no damage or big holes in your wall. Sarah Marentette, a local photographer, helped me test it out.
It looks like a staple gun at first, but you load specially angled tacks inside that aren't suppose to slip and will hold heavy objects, up to ten pounds per tack.
It does take a bit of time to load the Instahang at first, but once you figure it out and make sure the angled tacks are facing the right way, it's easy to use. It takes about the same amount of force as a stapler, and we found it might take a couple tries to get the tack in all the way.
It seemed sturdy, even on the heavier frames, and with the laser beam level that was an added bonus, it was easy to line up pictures.
If you're not good with a hammer and nails, the Instahang may be a decent option, but Sarah didn't think it was worth it and she wouldn't buy it. We bought Instahang online, but we also found it at a number of locations including WalMart for around $15.
