MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM)-- The Grout Bully claims that instead of replacing old and dingy looking grout, it can give you sparkling clean grout lines in minutes, making them look showroom clean.
Grout Bully comes in five colors. The sponge-top bottle applicator lets you quickly apply it to your grout lines, then simply wipe off the excess. That's what the commercial shows, but the directions say to wait two minutes before you wipe off the excess.
Kelly Green has a 1949 house in Muskegon and her bathroom has the original tile. No matter how much she cleans it, she says the grout just doesn't look clean.
She tested it out. She felt she needed several coats of the Grout Bully to completely cover the grey grout and make it white again. I thought it improved with one coat, but when you look closely, you may want to use more.
We thought Grout Bully would be good for small jobs, but for a large bathroom with several tiles like Kathy's, you'd have to buy several bottles, and it would be labor intensive to do that many coats. She wouldn't buy it for the expense and work that would have to go into it.
Also, the directions say to wait a whole week before heavy water or cleaning products are used, which may be difficult if you only have one shower.
Grout Bully sells at a number of stores like Walmart and Walgreens for around $10. Most stores carry the white and tan, but online we found there are five grout colors available.
