GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-The lighter side of LaughFest continued in Grand Rapids Sunday with the "Queen of Children's Music."
Laurie Berkner has been a professional musician for 20 years. Her career really took off when she started recording children's music. Music critics say Berkner helped launch the "Kindie Rock" movement.
WZZM 13's Amy Fox introduced the singer's band at DeVos Performance Hall Sunday. Berkner says she's happy to participate in LaughFest.
"It feels good to be asked to be a part of this because I know when kids listen to my music, I get a lot of feedback about how much they use it to get through the tough times. So it felt really good to actually be directly involved with something like that, where I would be supporting families who were getting through times that are difficult," said Berkner.
LaughFest runs through March 18.
