GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- A new railway is being installed in Grand Rapids which will offer a bird's eye view of the city.
Thursday crews laid tracks for a funicular, otherwise known as an incline, at the John Ball Zoo. The tram will transport people to the top of the hill behind the zoo where a large tree house will have a panoramic view of downtown.
The funicular is made possible by a $5 million grant from the Bill and Bea Idema Foundation.
It should be open to visitors by June.
