GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Voters -- the ones actually casting ballots Tuesday -- are deciding a variety of issues on ballots around West Michigan, including Grand Rapids Community College's request for a $98.6 million bond issue for remodeling its buildings.

Turnout is expected to be light in many counties, with clerks expecting 6-12% -- which they say is typical for school elections.

The GRCC millage is on the ballot in Kent County and a few precincts in Ottawa, Allegan, Barry and Newaygo counties.

Here is a breakdown of the proposals and contested races in seven West Michigan counties (we are including links to the counties' websites, which have more information on the ballot measures):

Kent County

  • GRCC millage
  • Grandville Public Schools building millage
  • Lowell Area Schools operating millage
  • Northview Public Schools building millage

Ottawa County

  • Allendale Public Schools operating millage renewal
  • Coopersville Area Schools operating millage renewal (also on ballot in some Muskegon County precincts)
  • Grand Haven Area Public Schools operating millage renewal
  • Holland Public Schools operating millage renewal (also on ballot in Holland precincts in Allegan County)
  • Hudsonville city transportation millage
  • Hudsonville Public Schools operating millage renewal  (also on ballot in some Allegan County precincts)
  • Spring Lake Public Schools operating millage renewal
  • West Ottawa Public Schools operating millage renewal

Muskegon County - Fruitport Community Schools operating millage renewal (also on ballot in some Ottawa County precincts)

Montcalm County

  • Pierson village president recall
  • Carson City-Crystal Area Schools operating millage renewal
  • Carson City-Crystal Area Schools building millage

Allegan County

  • Allegan Public Schools operating millage renewal
  • Allegan Public Schools building/equipment millage

Newaygo County - Fremont Public Schools sinking fund (some Newaygo County precincts will also vote on operating millage renewals for the Big Rapids, Morley Stanwood, and Mecosta-Osceola Intermediate school districts)
