An SUV was discovered resting on its side against a tree.
FRUITPORT, Mich. (WZZM)- Fruitport Township Police say a man may have laid dead near his SUV for hours after a crash on I-96 in Muskegon County.
Around 6 a.m. a passing driver noticed a GMC Envoy on its side, leaning on a tree of the side of the interstate.
Police responded and found a 27-year old man deceased. Investigators say it appears the man was headed eastbound on I-96 and attempted to exit onto Hile Road when the vehicle went off the road and rolled into a ditch.
Police say it doesn't appear the driver was wearing a seat belt. His name has not been released.
Police are looking into what caused the crash and hope the man's family can provide information to help determine when it happened.
