UPDATE AT 8 P.M. (WZZM) -- Kent County deputies are identifying the victim of the workplace accident as Samir Beslic, 35, of Grand Rapids.
CASCADE TWP. Mich. (WZZM) -- The Kent County Sheriff's Department and MIOSHA are on the scene of Mill Steel Corporation where an employee has died.
The company, located at 5116 36th Street in Cascade Township, distributes and processes a full line of flat-rolled steel products.
The Kent County Sheriff says that a 35-year-old man died while he was moving large steel coils and one came loose and fell on him. Other employees tried to help him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man had 13 years of experience moving large steel coils. His name is being withheld until his family has been notified.
