Firefighter Joe Donohoe won a ride in a P-51 Mustang flown by the Tuskegee Airmen.

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WZZM) -- A West Michigan fireman says his "bucket list" is one item shorter after a quick plane ride over the lakeshore.

Joe Donohoe paid $20 for a raffle ticket at a fundraiser. The prize he was after -- a ride in a North American P-51 Mustang flown by the Tuskegee Airmen, the famed group of African American pilots who fought in World War II. Donohoe won the prize after his ticket was pulled out of a hat.

Donohoe says the flight in a vintage warbird was on his list of things he wants to do before he dies -- the proverbial "bucket list." "A dream come true," he said. "Truly amazing."

The plane was piloted by Delta Airlines Capt. Brad Lang -- the son of a Tuskegee Airman.
