SPARTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Kent County deputies say a woman who ran through a stop sign was killed in a collision with another vehicle.
The accident happened around 2:15 p.m. Thursday at 12 Mile Rd. and Fruit Ridge Ave. NW in Sparta Township.
According to deputies, a Mercury Sable driven by Jessica Lee Hook, 29, of Byron Center, failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection. Hook's Sable was hit by a northbound Chevy Impala driven by Linda Crowe, 45, of Grant.
Hook was killed in the collision.
Crowe suffered a compound ankle fracture in the crash, and her passenger, Kenneth Rolfe, 35, of Grant, also suffered an unspecified non-life threatening injury.
Deputies say everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seatbelt. They do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
