GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) Sundays are good for Grand Rapids priest Steve Cron.

Last Sunday, Father's Day no less, Father Cron celebrated a lifetime of going to Detroit Tigers games with his brother.

"My brother did a little research and discovered (the first game we ever attended) was June 17th, 1962," says Father Cron. "So June 17th, 2012 became the 50th anniversary."

Cron and his brother were seated in section 131 at Comerica Park during last Sunday's win over the Colorado Rockies when Colorado's Jason Giambi hit a foul ball in his direction. Cron deflected the ball and picked it up after it landed one row behind him.

"It's the first foul ball I've had in the 50 years and the hundred of games I've attended," says Cron. "I've been at All-Star games, I've been at World Series games, I've been in the clubhouse, I've met players, I've gone to fantasy camp, I've been to the last game at Tiger Stadium, the first game at Comerica Park. It's like, 'what else can there be?' Well, a foul ball. That's one thing I'd never experienced before so it becomes kind of the icing on the cake if you will."
