GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-Cooley Law School is paying tribute to its namesake.

Grand Rapids artist Matt Large unveiled his bronze sculpture of Thomas Cooley Friday night. Cooley was a Michigan Supreme Court justice back in the 1800s. He also served on the Interstate Commerce Commission under President Grover Cleveland.

Large spent more than a year on his sculpture, trying to get every detail right. The sculpture now stands in the law school's campus courtyard.
