GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) -- A woman whose leg was severed in a fatal West Michigan boat crash nearly three years ago has won a $4.6 million judgment.

The Grand Rapids Press reports Monday that a federal jury sided with Alexis Youngberg in her lawsuit against Jack McKeough and his father, Michael McKeough, who owned the boat.

Youngberg was one of two passengers aboard a Sea Doo in Spring Lake on Sept. 5, 2009, when it was struck by the power boat. The crash killed the personal watercraft operator, 15-year-old Robby Jerovsek, and injured a second passenger.

The boat operator, Jack McKeough, was 14 when the crash occurred. He pleaded no contest to negligent crippling in Ottawa County Family Court.

Jerovsek's family previously settled its lawsuit against McKeough's parents, Michael and Nina McKeough.
