GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- The Group Seniorneighbors.org is asking for donations to help people deal with the heat. The group has installed 18 air conditioners and given away 60 fans in the Grand Rapids community. A manager says the group has exhausted 75 percent of its funding.
Meanwhile the Red Cross says cooling shelters are standing by should they be needed in the heat wave. Those centers are located in Lowell, Sparta, Grandville, Walker and Grand Rapids for seniors age 60 and up.
