GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) Michigan retailers reported encouraging numbers for May.
A news release from the Michigan Retailers Association reports that the Michigan Retail Index rose more than nine points to 61.9 on a 100 point scale. That is the highest level since January.
The report also found that 66% of Michigan retailers expect sales for the June-August period to increase over last year's sales. 11% of the retailers surveyed believed that sales would decrease.
