Splash pads are popular places to beat the heat this week.

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-While many people enjoy temperatures in the 90s, many others want relief from the heat.

Thursday, people all over Grand Rapids were looking for ways to escape the hottest day of the year so far. One air conditioned place that many people visited to beat the heat was the Grand Rapids Public Library.

"Our Internet computers downstairs were pretty full. We've had fairly good, steady traffic today with people coming in," said library manager Tim Gleisner. "We also have people who drive in from the outer neighborhoods as well, but definitely people come in more during the summer to beat the heat."

Grand Rapids' splash pads were also a popular places Thursday, as well as ice cream shops.
