MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) -- A two-year-old boy is dead after an SUV hit him while he was riding a tricycle in an alley, and the child's mother says she had previously warned the driver to slow down.
The accident happened around 1 p.m. Monday in an alley between Southern and Grand avenues near 6th and 7th streets in Muskegon.
According to police, Albert Medina-Rezo was riding his tricycle in an alley by his home when he was hit by a 45-year-old woman driving a Chevy TrailBlazer SUV. Albert was killed in the collision.
Albert's mother told WZZM 13 News she knew the driver and had warned her not to drive so fast in the alley. The mother also told her son not to play so close to the alley.
County victims services workers are offering counseling to the boy's family.
