BLUE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- A group of Boy Scouts spotted a grass fire that burned several acres at a Muskegon County camp.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Owasippe Scout Camp of Holton-Whitehall Road in Blue Lake Township.  The fire is one-half to one mile away from the road in an area surrounded by woods.

The scouts alerted leaders, who reported the fire to 911.

Several townships and the Department of Natural Resources had the fire under control by 5 p.m.

Firefighters say the fire burned up to four acres of property, but did not threaten any buildings.  They do not yet know what caused the fire.
