(WZZM)- Consumers Energy says overnight storms knocked out power to 12,000 customers.
As of 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, 8,800 homes and businesses remained without power.
In West Michigan, the hardest hit area was Newaygo County, with 514 outages. Montcalm County had 415 outages, followed by Kent County with 186 outages and Muskegon County with 39 outages.
It's unclear when power will be fully restored.
