Catherine Creamer, former executive director of ArtPrize
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Catherine Creamer, who has served as the executive director for more than one year, has stepped down from the position after reaching an agreement with the art competition's board of directors.
The board issued a statement Tuesday announcing Creamer's resignation.
"Catherine brought stability to the ArtPrize organization during a year that included several transitions," said Rick DeVos, chairman of ArtPrize, in Tuesday's statement. "She has been a passionate advocate of ArtPrize and we wish her the very best in her future endeavors. Key accomplishments that occurred under Catherine's leadership include: broadening the financial support for ArtPrize, moving into the new facility at 41 Sheldon Blvd and leaving a strong team in place."
"I am grateful for the opportunity to have expanded my career at ArtPrize and I have learned a lot from the Board and my colleagues, I am delighted to have had this robust opportunity," said Creamer in the statement.
The board named Daryn Kuipers, financial manager with the Windquest Group, as the organization's interim executive director. Creamer plans to spend time with Kuipers working on the transition.
Kuipers will serve as interim executive director until a nationwide search has found someone to fill the role permanently.
