(WZZM) - What's the Fourth of July without a few parades?

Some familiar faces marched through the streets of East Grand Rapids for the city's Independence Day parade. The line of bands and marchers went through Gas Light Village.

Up to 7,000 people were expected to line the streets to watch. Those who lined the streets in Cascade Township for the annual parade, had a little help staying cool. Some of those participating in the parade handed out bottles of water to spectators. People began claiming their spots in the shade along the route by 7:30am Wednesday. By the time the parade ended, temperatures were into the 90s.
