Overnight storms leave many without power

(WZZM) - A line of thunderstorms that moved through central Michigan early Thursday morning left tens of thousands of people in the dark, and in the heat.

Consumers Energy reports that as of 5:30 am, 63,300 customers are without power statewide.

In West Michigan, 5,235 people are without electricity in Montcalm County. In Kent County, 1,738 customers are waking up without power. In Ionia County, 1,123 people do not have power.

Other West Michigan Counties have several hundred Consumers Energy customers without power. Here are some of those counties:

Ottawa - 243

Consumers Energy crews are working to restore power as soon as possible.
