UPDATE AT 4:55 P.M. (WZZM) -- Deputies now say three people were injured in a shooting near Kentwood Community Church.
In addition to one victim found shot in the neck at the Woodfield East Apartments, two other victims showed up at Metro Hospital in Wyoming -- one shot in the arm, and the other grazed in the head.
Investigators believe the two who went to the hospital on their own had been in a confrontation with the first victim near a ballfield behind Kentwood Community Church.
Police are still searching for others involved in the shooting.
GAINES TWP., Mich. (WZZM) - Kent County Sheriff's Deputies and Grand Rapids Police are on the scene of a shooting in Gaines Township.
The incident started around 1:00 p.m. in the Woodfield East Apartments with an altercation in a group of people. Shots were fired and one person was hit in the neck. The victim and a second person suffering from a medical condition at the scene have been taken to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown.
The Kent County Sheriff's Department is looking for people who were involved in the altercation. They are not sure if the shooting was gang-related.
