Gas company accidentally brings down mobile home park's power lines

UPDATED AT 12:00 P.M. (WZZM)- According to a resident of Lakeside Mobile Home Community power was restored by Consumer's Energy on Friday night.

OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- People in a northeast Kent County mobile home park lost their electricity when a gas company worker made a mistake, but the park's manager says the company is doing its best to help the residents.

People at Lakeside Mobile Home Community in Oakfield Township lost power Thursday after one of Rural Gas Company's trucks accidentally brought down power lines.

When the gas company learned of the mistake, managers began sending ice and generators to help cool down park residents until power is restored.

Workers from Rural were in the park Thursday to remove a propane tank.
