OTTAWA COUNTY, Michigan (WZZM)-  Good Samaritans are being credited with rescuing a man from the water at Georgetown Township Park and Recreation Area.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department says 22-year-old Cipriano Ramirez of Grand Rapids went under shortly before 2:30 pm Saturday. People at the park formed a human chain and found him, pulling him out of the water.

Witnesses think Ramirez was in the water for five to seven minutes before he was rescued. Bystanders and paramedics performed CPR at the scene. Ramirez was taken to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Saturday night.
