Health officials say wearing light colored clothing is one of the simplest ways to beat the heat. But are they right?
(WZZM)-Health officials say wearing light colored clothing is one of the simplest ways to beat the heat. But are they right?
WZZM 13 put their findings to the test. Around 6:45 p.m. Saturday, we put five shirts out on our sidewalk to bake. About 20 minutes later, we returned to measure their temperatures. Surprisingly, our black shirt came in at 104 degrees; one degree lower than the red shirt. Next in line was our blue polo, at 103 degrees, followed by the lavender shirt. However the best choice was our white T-shirt, which measured 98 degrees.
