Families forced out by Kentwood duplex fire

KENTWOOD, Michigan (WZZM) - A fire forced two families out of their homes Monday.

The fire started in a duplex near the intersection of Kalamazoo and 52nd Street about 11:15 am.

A passerby helped about ten people get out of the two homes before anyone was hurt.

Fire crews had the fire out in about a half hour. Most of the damage was to one of the two  units in the duplex.
