CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Gerald R. Ford International Airport is losing its only direct flight to the nation's capitol.
An airport spokesman says Delta Airlines is cancelling daily flights from Grand Rapids to Washington, D.C.'s Reagan National Airport.
Spokesman Bruce Schedlbauer says the cut is part of an agreement between Delta and U.S. Airways.
Delta is giving up some landing rights at Reagan Airport to U.S. Airways, and U.S. Airways is giving Delta some landing rights at LaGuardia International Airport in New York City.
Right now, no other air carriers plan to pick up the flight route.
