BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Ferris State University is selling the on-campus hotel it has owned and operated for 22 years.
The university's board of trustees Wednesday approved the sale of the Holiday Inn and Conference Center to Michigan-based American Hospitality Management, Inc. (AHM).
The university has owned the Holiday Inn on Perry Avenue since it opened in 1990. It has meeting rooms, banquet facilities, a full-service restaurant and bar, a swimming pool and a fitness center.
AHM is based in Cheboygan, and operates hotels in nine states.
Under the deal announced Wednesday, AHM will continue to operate the Holiday Inn on campus. Employees interested in keeping their jobs will be interviewed by AHM managers.
No sale price was mentioned in a news release from the university. School leaders expect the sale to be closed by fall 2012.
