GAINES TWP., MI (WZZM)- The Kent County Sheriff's Department and Animal Control are investigating a complaint about puppies that may have been stolen and taken to a Gaines Township home.
The original call came in as a dispute over someone's 3-month old boxer that had been stolen from their yard. They accused the homeower on the corner of 68th and Eastern of stealing the puppy while they were gone.
When animal control officers entered the Gaines Twp. home, they found a dozen dogs and puppies. They are currently trying to figure out which ones are licensed and which ones do not belong to the homeowners. One of the residents, who is cooperating with deputies, later led the owners of the boxer, to their dog.
