UPDATE (8:25 p.m.) -- Grand Rapids fire crews have put out the fire. All damage was contained to the grass.
The grass fire affected an old landfill on Butterworth Street.
UPDATE (8:19 p.m.) -- According to scanner traffic, fire crews have contained the north end of the fire, but they continue to battle blazes elsewhere on the scene.
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, Grand Rapids Fire Department began battling a grass fire on Wealthy Street, just across from the Kent County Recycling Center.
Multiple units were dispatched to the scene and heavy smoke hangs over the area.
