GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Peanuts and salt are all it has taken for a Grand Rapids business to thrive for the last 102 years.
Koeze Company is best known for its peanut butter. The family started out running a grocery business from the back of a truck and then started making peanut butter 87 years ago.
Jeff Koeze is now the fourth generation owner and says they're still running strong because they've stuck with the exact same recipe his great-grandfather created, made with the best peanuts in the country.
Koeze says the technologies and methods for making peanut butter have changed over the years -- think reduced fat, and added hydronated oils and sugar -- but they haven't changed a thing.
"I think when people taste it, there's a class of people that go 'oh, that's what it tasted like when I was a kid,'" he said.
