LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- The Creole Gallery in north Lansing is asking for entries to a juried art exhibition called The Vagina Show.
"The Vagina Monologues" was performed last month on the Capitol steps after Democratic Rep. Lisa Brown had her speaking privileges taken away for a day after she said "vagina" during a House debate about anti-abortion legislation. The word "vagina" has become a rallying point for some.
The gallery said in a Wednesday release that the fall exhibit is designed to highlight the "personal, political, social, medical and legislative landscapes" involving the vagina.
The show will run from Sept. 9 through Oct. 28.
The deadline for submissions is Aug. 18. Artists will be notified Aug. 24 which pieces have been accepted.
